McLEAN, Virginia – As an American National Standards Institute (ANSI) accredited Standards Developing Organization (SDO), 3-A Sanitary Standards, Inc. is required to make public announcements any time there is a proposal for a new 3-A Sanitary Standards or 3-A Accepted Practices or reaffirmation, revision or withdrawal of existing 3-A Sanitary Standards or 3-A Accepted Practices. Announcements shall also be made to the Founding Member Organizations of 3-A SSI, FDA Milk Safety Branch, USDA Dairy Programs, industry trade press, and other interested parties to give the opportunity for participation by all directly and materially affected persons any time there is a proposed revision of a 3-A Sanitary Standard or Accepted Practice. The 3-A Sanitary Standards and Accepted Practices define hygienic design requirements to ensure the cleanability and inspectability of food processing equipment. On January 3, 2023, six new revision projects were referred to our Working Groups for review. The following revision projections have been referred to 3-A SSI Working Groups:
